Founder & CEO
With half a decade in the biopharmaceutical industry, Samuel has built a deep understanding of translating groundbreaking research into scalable manufacturing solutions.
Driven by a passion for impactful science, he is dedicated to developing innovations that alleviate suffering, enhance quality of life, and address pressing global public health challenges.
Sophie Stephens,MSc
Co-Founder & CSO
A registered biomedical and clinical scientist with over seven years of experience in clinics and laboratories.
Her current PhD is on Clinical Research at Imperial College London, focusing on disease modelling of HPV infections.
Sophie leads the contraceptive and clinical testing of Seasilk
James Warren, PhD
Co-Founder & CTO
With over seven years of post-doctoral experience in biomaterials and regenerative medicine, James has built a strong foundation in academic research and IP commercialisation of medical devices.
At the Bragg Centre at the University of Leeds, he oversees the creation and development of our prototypes, driving innovation and ensuring their practical application

Revolutionising natural protection through pH balance
Seasilk contraceptive gel is a vaginal pH modulator which maintains the natural acidic conditions in the vagina during and after intercourse.
These conditions are naturally inhospitable to sperm and form a protective environment.

Naturally sourced acids that are found in the human body provide a gentle yet effective protection, promoting skin health and comfort without the use of harsh chemicals.

Salts & Acidity Regulator
Food-grade salt is used to ensure osmolarity aligns with the human body, while an acidity regulator maintains optimal pH balance.
Vegan Binding Ingredients

Vegan ingredients are expertly combined to form a stable gel, holding the active components while maintaining safety and effectiveness.
Preservative
As all ingredients are edible, a food-grade preservative is incorporated to ensure a practical shelf life and prevent microbial growth.
